Can you believe it’s almost October? A year went by so fast!!! Last year we had an amazing prayer campaign at Saint Martin’s. We had free rosaries and pamphlets on how to pray the rosary and many people told us how much they liked it.
This year we would like take this prayer campaign to the next level. During the month of October (which is the month of the Rosary) we would like to invite everyone to pray for a person who is preparing to receive the Sacraments this Easter. In this way, we will be helping each other as a community in our faith journey.
We will have free rosaries at the doors of the Church; each rosary will include the name of a person (children, teen or adult) who is preparing to receive the Sacraments. You will be encouraged to pray the rosary for that specific person as he/she continues on his/her journey. Please keep this person present as you pray the rosary or any other prayers, when you go to Mass, etc. If you have the time to meet this person and his/her family, I encourage you to do so and share with him/her that you are praying for them and their journey.
Prayer is one of the most powerful means we have to care for one another. It also helps us to live in the same spirit as the first followers of Christ: “Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up, as indeed you do” (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
